Marina Corona
Marina ist unser jüngster Neuzugang und eine Frau mit mehreren Hüten auf − nicht wortwörtlich, auch wenn das ein Modetrend werden könnte. Marina ist Ehefrau, Mutter von zwei kleinen Kindern, Webseiten-Designerin und Softwareingenieurin. Und sie findet, dass das Schreiben von Codes nicht ansatzweise so viel Spaß bringt wie das Schreiben über Codes in der Mode.
Bevor sie sich mit Mode beschäftigte, arbeitete Marina als Kriminalermittlerin in Washington, D.C. Sie führte Gespräche mit den Verdächtigen und ihren Familien für die Pflichtverteidiger. Heute verteidigt sie ihren Modegeschmack sowohl in ihren Artikeln als auch gegenüber ihren FreundInnen in Amsterdam.
Marinas Leidenschaft für Mode begann, als sie noch ein kleines Mädchen war. Damals, als ihre Mutter für ein Wochenende die Stadt verließ, überzeugte sie ihre Großmutter, ihr Absatzschuhe zu kaufen, die sie dann stolz die gesamte Grundschulzeit trug.
Marina kann man oft dabei beobachten, wie sie auf den Straßen von Amsterdam nach den neuen Themen für Modepilot sucht. Manchmal ist das holländischer Street Style, oder einfach schöne, einzigartige Boutiquen wie spannende, neue Marken.
Nach Amsterdam plant Marina ihre Tätigkeit als Modejournalistin in Mailand fortzusetzen, wo sie die neuesten und spannendsten Entwicklungen Italiens vorstellen wird − mit einem Hang zur Überschneidung von Mode und Technologie.
Marina ist our newest addition to the blog writing staff and a woman who wears many hats. Not in the literal way, though, that may prove to be a fashion trend some day. Marina is a wife, mother of two, website designer and software engineer. And she finds that writing code isn’t nearly as fun as writing about fashion.
Before her days in fashion, Marina worked as a criminal investigator in Washington, D.C. interviewing suspects and their families for the Public Defenders. Now, she defends her fashion tastes both in her writing and amongst her friends in Amsterdam.
Marina’s love for fashion started as a young girl when one weekend when her mother was out of town, she convinced her grandmother to buy her a pair of heels which she wore proudly through all of her elementary school days.
You can often spot Marina strolling through the streets of Amsterdam looking for the newest content to write about. Sometimes it’s Dutch street style, or beautiful and unique boutiques or curious local brands. If her arms seem full, it’s just because she’s carrying one of her two babies.
Outside of Amsterdam, Marina plans to continue her fashion writing pursuits in Milan, where she will explore the latest and greatest in Italian fashion. And after all she falls for the intersection of fashion and technology.
